Senior and Junior coaching 2016/17 – Expressions of interest

SCC Logo 2015

On the back of a successful cricket season Sunbury Cricket Club are seeking expressions of interest for Senior and Junior coaches for next season.

Senior Coaching

There is an exciting opportunity to coach a club with very strong depth in young players and to lead a senior team with a mixture of seasoned cricketers and stars of the future. Our 1st XI has never been short of on field leadership with Captain Jason McGann, dual Kevin Sullivan Medalist, and current GDCA Team of the Year Captain and Aggregates Award winner  ably supported by Heath Boffey and Paul Webber.

Sunbury Cricket Club are seeking an experienced coach and senior player to take our 1st XI and club to the next level. A coach offering a structured approach to training and a practice program with variety would be considered favourably.

If your are an experienced first grade cricketer and are looking for a new challenge or if you are new player to the area please contact us, this is going to be the place to be in 2016/17. New club room facilities are currently being built and will be in use at the start of the season. Already the envy of the competition playing at the home of sport in Sunbury, the Clarke Oval, our new home will be a revelation.

Junior Coaching

Junior coaches are very important roles within our club, we are looking for those who have an interest in cricket development and coordination at training and on game day. Without volunteers these programs are not possible so even if you have little experience we can provide assistance, there is always a role for those at any level. Scorers and team managers are also valuable to the team, many hands make light work.

We are looking to again run U16’s, U14’s, U12’s, U11’s and the Milo program.

T20 Blast is another program we would love to run if we can get assistance.

SCC welcome expressions of interest from parents and care providers who simply like to participate in their child’s activities. You don’t really need to be a former or current player to join in the fun.

If you are attending a match and would like to assist or help out for the day, don’t be shy, step forward and introduce yourself to our coach. We pride ourselves on being a family oriented club so that means we like to see the whole family getting involved.

Particularly if you are an interested parent and see yourself in a coaching role or simply would like to contribute we would love to hear from you.

Milo cricket is one coordination position open, without your help it may not be possible to run this program, so please get in contact with the club so we can make 2016/17 even bigger and better.

We are Sunbury, we wear the Royal Blue cap !

SCC Expressions of interest for season 2015/16

blue logo

Sunbury Cricket Club are calling on expressions of interest for positions of  senior grade cricketers  for the upcoming season 2015-16.

The Sunbury Cricket Club membership comprises of a senior group of first grade cricketers, young up and coming players and senior players providing mentor-ship. Since winning promotion from second grade completion our first XI team has competed in the past three first grade grand finals including last season. It is an exciting time for the club being on the verge of ultimate success which offers an excellent opportunity for new players of all grades.

This is the perfect opportunity for senior grade players new to the area, sick of travelling to town each week or for those wanting to make a stamp on the competition in a team with some great players mixed in with stars of the future. Come and join Jason McGann (2013/14 Vic Country Team of the Year) and up and coming young players such as Stephen Treweek and Jack Landt and be part of what is to be an exciting season.

Our club has also a strong Juniors program with an emphasis on parental involvement.

Sunbury Cricket Club fields four junior teams. It is this commitment to junior cricket and the promotion of healthy activity in a family environment that ensures a successful future for the club and an attractive environment for new families to the area.

We are the envy of the competition being based at the Clarke Oval which is currently having the players facilities refurbished and we have the use of the Sunbury Bowling Club for after match activities and functions.
