Junior coaches for season 2015/16

blue logo

We are very pleased to announce that Sunbury Cricket Club Junior coaches for season 2015-16 have already been finalised.

SCC has always been very conscious of the importance in the Junior teams as the future of our club and has been active in reinstating its U16 team. Juniors is where it all starts for a majority of our senior ranks and it is where the family environment all begins. With current stars of the future in our teams such as Dylan Landt who recently represented Victoria in the School Sport Victoria Team Vic 15 Years & Under State Cricket Team competing in the School Sport Australia Australian National Cricket Championships and Josh Goater winning GDCA averages and also leading in the Central Highlands representative ranks, this could be our most successful season to date.

It is with great pleasure to announce current senior listed players Sam Fisher and Jake Stirling have come forward to take on the U16 coaching roles.

U16 Coach 2015/16 – Sam Fisher

Sam is a handy all rounder with experience in opening the batting in McIntyre cricket and has a genuine interest in developing our young players for the future. Jake is the 2013/14 2nd XI Best and Fairest winner and is known as a skilled swing bowler and is keen to assist progress the team onto winning success.

Two of our coaches have decided to continue on from last season’s success.  Current Saba Family Award recipient Jake Botten (U14 coach) and popular cricket identity and father Brendan Doyle (U12 coach) are continuing on from the great work from last season.

Father and son century makers Brendan and Nathan Doyle

This season we are very proud to announce that for the first time we will being fielding a U11 team coached by former SCC player Ewen Hildebrandt.  Having started as a SCC junior with his brother and SCC premiership player Marcus, Ewan was a fast bowler of the tallest order when in his prime. A primary school teacher by day, Ewan comes back to the club as a father himself. We are privileged to welcome Ewan back to the club and we are assured of a great season.

Our Milo Into Cricket program is likely to continue however we would like to see more parents come along and assist. It takes real team work to run this program so please, send SCC a message and show your interest.

Junior Registration day is usually in the first week of September so please keep an eye out for future announcements.
