GDCA call for U16 umpires

The Sunbury Cricket Club are supporting an initiative by the GDCA to have paid umpires for our the u16 competition. They are looking for people over the age of 16 who are not currently playing in the u16 competition who would like to earn some money, and also become a qualified umpire.

All people undertaking this initiative will be asked to undertake Level 1 umpiring accreditation. The pay will be $50 per Saturday. Not only will this initiative promote fair play, it will also encourage more younger people to stay involved. Your commitment on a Saturday morning will be approximately from 8.30am – 11.45am. Approximately $16 per hour cash in hand. Not bad coin. Who knows, starting at this age you may be the next international umpire.
In the early days, you will be mentored and supported 100% by a current senior umpire who will guide you through the process. If it goes ahead, we are looking at a commitment every Saturday starting from the end of January.

There is a definite career path, and if you enjoy it, and want to continue, there are plenty of opportunities. Please let me know if you are interested or know anyone who may be.

Cheers
