Sunbury face Wallan at home at the Clarke Oval in a sudden death Semi-final to be played on Saturday and Sunday, commencing: 1.00pm. The winner of this match to play off against the winner of the first Semi-final between competition leaders Sunbury United and Woodend.
All welcome to join players, parents and coaches celebrate the 2012/13 season and congratulate all award recipients while enjoying a BBQ and soft drink.
An outright win over a hapless Rupertswood not only ensures a place in this seasons McIntyre finals but also provides the team with the home ground advantage by finishing second on the ladder.
SCC Capt/Coach Jason McGann quotes to the Sunbury Leader: “It’s hard to get 20 wickets in a day that’s for sure. We certainly weren’t thinking about an outright win going into the game. It’s always good leading into a finals series to be full of confidence. It was a really good team effort by us. Anything can happen in a game of cricket. I’ve been playing cricket for a long time, Iv’e seen fourth placed sides beat top teams and so on.”
