It is with great pleasure to report to you that this afternoon we have received exciting news and official confirmation from Hume City Council regarding the upgrade work of Clarke Oval, please read the below details:
Hume City Council (HCC) is preparing to undertake upgrade works at the Sunbury Recreation Reserve sports ground (Clarke Oval) including new irrigation and drainage, conversion to Santa Ana turf and the establishment of a cricket turf wicket table.
Outlined below are some of the key dates and outcomes relating to the works at the Sunbury Recreation Reserve:
- Site fencing to be installed around the ground through the week of Monday 11th October 2021
- HCC Capital Works signage to be displayed on site fencing to inform the community of the works through the week of Monday 11th October 2021.
- Project construction to commence through the week of Monday 18th October 2021.
Upgrade works to include the following.
I. Leveling of playing field
II. Removal of existing hard wicket
III. Installation of new drainage system
IV. Installation of new irrigation system
V. Installation of instant turf across playing field (Santa Ana Couch)
VI. Installation of new 5-pitch turf wicket table.
Reserve will be closed for community use until 01st April 2022 to provide new turf sufficient time to establish.
The Hume Sport and Recreation team will work closely with the respective cricket and football clubs through this period to source alternate sites for both fixtured games and pre-season training requirements through the next six (6) months.
