HALL OF FAME

Sunbury Cricket Club – Hall of Fame

In preparation for our club’s 150th Anniversary activities, a SCC Life members’ panel was convened to discuss the establishment and implementation of a prestigious SCC Hall of Fame. The panel collectively established that individuals must have at least ten (10) years of service and meet six (6) out of nine (9) specific criteria to be eligible for induction.

Hall of Fame – Criteria

The nine (9) criteria encapsulate both on-field and off-field contributions, emphasizing the importance of serving as a committee member for two (2) years, undertaking a junior coaching role, excelling as a senior premiership player, winning the senior best and fairest award, serving as a senior captain, coaching the club, demonstrating excellence in senior batting and bowling, and/or receiving a GDCA award.

To ensure accuracy, we meticulously combed through available records, including our honour board and past season’s committee reports. When details were unclear, the panel proactively reached out to individuals for clarification. It’s worth noting that records from before the early 1980s were unfortunately inaccessible.

After thorough deliberation, the Hall of Fame committee has proudly selected 27 worthy inductees for the inaugural Hall of Fame during our 150th year. Going forward, we are committed to announcing additional inductees at each season’s Senior Presentation Night as more records become available and as current members earn their place by meeting the criteria.
