SCC Senior cricket – Pre-season schedule

G’day all!!

Hope you’re surviving the winter! ⛈⛈

The hard work starts in 2 weeks’ time, and I’m very excited to get to work with you all. The first few sessions are about getting the body to perform cricket actions again, whilst still hoping you can move the next day and then ramp up from there 💪

Check out the schedule, click to download:

There is a huge focus on a ‘united one club culture’ and building success as a club collectively, not just solely focusing on the 1s. The only way we achieve this is to get together and work hard!

EVERYONE starts with a clean slate this year, and training is going to have a big say in selection, so please get to these sessions and put the work in early!

As soon as we get to our outdoor sessions (August), you will see that training won’t look like the standard boring training, but we need to get good numbers for this to work!

I’m happy to start having Sunday batting or bowling sessions for those who want to get to work early (weather permitting), so please reach out if you’d like to book a session.

See you all Saturday night at the Ball Court and then at the 1st training session on the 16th!

Cheers

Leo

Hume City Council – Active Living Plan

Hume City Council are creating an Active Living Plan to improve the health and well-being of our community by encouraging physical activity and active lifestyles.
Hume is growing – fast. By 2046, we expect over 100,000 more people to live here. To keep up with this growth, we’re making this 20-year plan to make sure everyone in our community can get active and stay active in ways that work for them.
The plan will guide how we allocate money and other resources for sports, parks, and recreation activities in the future.
A crucial part of the process is engaging with our community to learn what matters most to them – specifically in five key areas, including: indoor sport, outdoor sports, aquatic and leisure centres, Sunbury and Aquatic Leisure Centre, casual recreational activities, and football (soccer).

The 158th Executive Committee of Sunbury Cricket Club was duely elected at the AGM held last night at the Sunbury Social Club. SCC is excited to announce a stable committee and the prospect of another successful season in 2025/26.

We are particularly pleased to welcome Nathan Mora back as President for his second season in this role. Marty Kelders will return as Secretary, and Justin Allen will continue as Treasurer for another term.

Other appointments include the promotion of Jason McGann to the Vice President role, and Ewen Hilderbrand, who retains the role of Assistant Vice President. General committee members are Anthony Riggio, Sam Fisher, Jason McGowan, and Zac Corcoran.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to previous committee members and express our gratitude to our valued sponsors, as well as to our senior and junior volunteers for their assistance over the past seasons.

For a complete list of appointments, please click here to visit the SCC Website’s Committee and Contacts page.

The committee is already working hard to secure sponsorships, and with the signing of Leo Italiano as coach, we have made several recruitment announcements, with more to come.

To ensure the smooth running of the junior division within our club, we are looking for individuals interested in the Junior Coordinator or Assistant role to come forward. There is also the opportunity to form a Junior sub-committee, as there are several tasks that require support. Anyone interested is encouraged to contact us.
