Vale Doug Cue

We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Doug Cue, a Life Member of Sunbury Cricket Club. Doug was a passionate cricketer who was dedicated to the game and the club he represented. He was particularly known for nurturing the junior players and was a popular Captain of the 3rd XI for many years. Doug played over 100 games for SCC, starting in 1986 and continuing until the late 1990s. As a bowling all-rounder, his best figures were 7/67.

Doug also served many years on the committee, including as President from 1994 to 1997. He was honoured with the Best Clubman Award in 1989/90 and was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2018, during the club’s 150th Anniversary function. Additionally, Doug was a Life Member of Sunbury Football Club and was known for his commitment as a trainer.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Doug’s family and friends during this difficult time. We particularly want to express our sympathies to his son Brad, who is well known to the club as a player and previous 1st XI B&F recipient.

Doug’s funeral will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will take place at Sunbury Social Club on April 5th from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
